28 July 2009 (Tue) - 犯太岁

Half the year has passed in a blink of an eye. I am hoping that time can move even faster… I am challenging the clock to tick even quicker.

This year has been an unlucky one so far for me. I am not the very superstitious kind of person, yet I can’t help but feel weighed down by the things that happened so far.

First off, we have got to move office. From having our own unit in the prime Raffles Place, we have to move in with our conference office at Harbourfront. Instead of having a cosy office all to ourselves, we have got to share space with our “sisters”.

Ok, that’s not so bad… since I have managed to adapt well and have gotten a nice desk with window view.

Just when I started thinking that life is that cruel after all... their MD came by yesterday to ask my MD if he could have my desk back for one of his staff.

WTF.

Got to give my cool, spacious desk back to them loh.

Whatever.

On top of that, it seems that whatever endeavors that I embarked on won’t run smoothly. Really 犯太岁.

Can’t wait for this year to be over.

24 July 2009 (Fri) - Strange & Perverted People

There are really all sorts of funny people around…

like what my husband said, I will never fully understand human nature. Or what prompted certain actions from some very strange people around.

First off, why would a monk wants to keep a horse as a pet? Aren’t monks supposed to be free of passion… free from any attachment? The outdated and silly me still half expects monks to spend their time on meditating and kung fu trainings.

Then we have the 3 inmates who ganged up to sexually and physically abuse their inmate. The victim was asked to eat shit… literally. I knowI know… I always ask people who irritated me to eat shit too… but not really eat shit kind of eat shit lah. They are Extremely gross… and that’s not all. They forced the victim to perform oral sex and one of them even sodomised the victim. Now, that is SUPER sick. That is against nature. *Sorry to all the gays out there, but the whole BBR (boy-boy relationship) thingy doesn’t sit very well with me. Pls understand that your anus has only 1 use and that is solely to expel feces. Pls do not abuse this under-rated organ of yours. I hope on top of the canings and extra years, these abusers will be served shit for breakfast, lunch and dinner too.

Lastly, 2 of my colleagues are angry with each other over…. I don’t know over what exactly… but they have been angry with each other for so long. It is kind of strange to see 2 people who have to work so closely together, yet be so mad with each other. I reckon that they must be totally exhausted at the end of each day from carrying all that burden.

For me... I promise myself to do my very best at work. But after work, I want to rest… relax… and be able to laugh at myself at the end of each day.

*I am undergoing treatment to lighten my freckles with a new set of skin products. I will introduce the brand to you if I am satisfied with the results in 2 weeks time.

**We are going to catch the Harry Potter movie later today and bowling again on Sunday.

I love weekends.

Much preferred long straight hair over the ugly maggie-mee, short crop, bee-hive hair styles that my ex-classmate designed for me.

23 July 2009 - Shoes for Sales

Remember the Martina Pink heels that were slightly too small for me?

I have decided to sell them at half price. They have only been wore once for a couple of hours and are in tip-top condition.

I bought this pair last month and they are in size 7.
*You can email me at lusheil@yahoo.com if you are a size 7 and interested to try them on.
So don't be shy girls to contact me... Martina Pink shoes are rarely on sales.

23 July 2009 (Thu) - Hairstyles

My mother always says that a person’s hairstyle can make or break her/ his whole look.

So she is extremely particular about her crowning glory… she will perm… straighten… trim her short bob… almost every month. I can’t really see much difference though, but still she pays great attention to her hair.

For me… I like to keep my hair long.

I was really into ‘till your waist’ kind of long hair a few years back… but keeping such long caused a set of problems for me. It takes longer time to blow dry my hair each morning… and my hair was falling more than usual. Perhaps my scalp couldn’t take the weight of my hair.

So no more Rapunzel kind of length for me…

However, I will never cut my hair short. I had a bad childhood and having a unruly short bob with ugly blunt fringes was one of the main cause. I still remember the tears that I shed as I stepped out from the neighbourhood salons.

Don’t believe that a hairstyle can break a person’s look?

Sibei auntie.

No words to describe the ugliness. I am very tempted to slit my own throat now.

Maggic Mee hair - just let me die..................

All thanks to my ex-classmate for these pictures... he decided to design these new looks for me.

Good to know that we still have that bit of humour to laugh at ourselves after all these years!

22 July 2009 (Wed) - Happy Day

I haven’t been shopping much for the past 3 weeks ………………………………

*Giving myself a pat on my back.*

I proud to say that I have successfully controlled my desire to constantly buy new stuff such as dresses… shoes.. bags.

To keep away the “need to shop” syndrome, I am occupying myself with reading and playing of ipod games. Instead of buying books from bookstores which can cost me up to S$80 per trip, I am reading books from the National Library so there is zero cost involved!

Cool right?! See I totally deserved that pat on my back.

And when I get the impossible-to-ignore itch to shop… I head straight to supermarkets! There is not much to buy in supermarkets… so I ended buying the groceries that I need. I am so pleased to know that I can be so thrifty leh!

You must be finding it hard to believe right?! I must clarify that I do still shop but I am shopping alot less and only buying that things that I have ran out… e.g skincare, ipod charger.

And when I was checking through my credit card bills today, I was SHOCKED. Instead of long long lists that go on forever, I got short statements for 2 - 3 items only.

WooooooooooHooooooooooo!

And I still have $$$ leftover in last month salary – a rare sight! (Must declare not much savings though.)

Still, I feel good….. lalallalaaa…lallaaalaalalala

More pictures and a video clip of my favourite pair!

15 July 2009 (Wed) - Men are just like shoes....

I am feeling kind of emotional today… don’t laugh

On my way to work, I was marveling at the Mother Nature... It was raining so heavily and we could barely see the car in front of us. The rain was extremely strong… just the right setting for an accident to happen. With the radio was reporting on the many traffic accidents along my ride, I am reminded on how vulnerable we humans can be at such times. I was praying silently for us to reach safely.

My company has the world’s slowest water dispenser going by my standard. So while waiting for the UV to cure the water this morning, I stared at the 2 large blisters on my feet. I bought this pair of smart black with silver rim Martina Pink heels… only to find it a tad too small for me. Since I am a firm believer of enduring pain in the name of vanity, I carried on wearing them till I have 2 disgustingly huge blisters at the back of my feet. After spending $89 on them and only wearing them once, what am I supposed to do with them now? Such a pity to throw them away… yet too expensive to give them away… these pumps will probably spend the rest of their lonely life in my cold and dark storeroom.

It suddenly dawn upon me that the shoes that you have are just like the relationships that you have had with men….. I have met good-looking men who are more obsessed with their looks than I am… they were much in love with themselves than with me.. so pretty yet so high maintenance to keep up with – just like my Martin Pink heels, they are such a pain to hang out with/ in. Do you stay in the relationship or do you walk away? I chose to move on even though my heart did ache quite abit. So pretty mah...

Then you have the ‘Ok’ shoes… the design is not bad… it doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket and most importantly, they are so comfortable. You will think of bringing them when you travel… you wear them when you need to run your errands on a care-free day. But totally lack of va-va-voom factor. In my opinions, these are the kind of shoes/ relationships that most girls would end up with in their lifes.

Of course, there are the ugly but totally functional shoes (think fat old rich men)… and there are the cheap but lousy quality shoes (one word – Losers)... I am so glad that I don’t have to get stuck with one of these kinds. But again, everyone has freedom to choose right?

One of my friends had to wear flats when she met up with her ex-boyfriend even though she love her heels… reason being her slightly shorter bf didn’t like his gf to be towering over him. Notice that I used “ex” in my earlier sentence… so even after 6 years together, they splitted.

I am very into colour coordinating my outfits. I either match my shoes to the colour of the bag which I am carrying, or to my attire, or to my accessories. Eg, I am wearing a mustard yellow dress today and carrying a very nice brown bag… so my shoes will have to be either in the same shade of yellow or have to go with my bag – I chose a pair of brown heels to go with it. And I have got the perfect yellow and brown chunky beads necklace to complete my outfit.

Yes, I am that fussy. And that is probably why I never run out of things to buy.

But the point is – I am a fussy person and it is not easy being in any relationships with me. To my hubby, I may fall in the “high maintenance shoes” category. But I guess I am at least able to keep my insatiable quest to just shoes, not for more men…. Wahahahhaaa!

Am I confusing you again?

Liked I have said… I am feeling emo today mah…

So before I end… what kind of shoes are you? Think about it… what type of “shoes” are you wearing now?

*Tip of the day: Pls throw all your C&K slip-on kitten heels away, ladies! They belong to that last decade!

20 July 2009 (Mon) - Pictures of my love

Another Monday… pretty hectic as I have an event starting today.

I spent loads of time thinking over the weekend… pondering on human nature. I can’t seem to understand why some people behave the way that they do and probably I will never gain full insight. My husband told me it is a total waste of my time to rationalise human behaviors… but I always believe your action today is a reaction of a situation yesterday.

And I am really puzzled by certain actions.

Actions -> Reactions -> Consequences.

Eg. You put in your best effort at work -> Your boss recognises your performance -> Your get rewarded.

Of course, there is 50% chance of your 'dense' boss not recognising your efforts. But it is for sure that sloppy work will never get you anywhere.

True?

Anyway, I have got to stop dwelling on all these or I may get wrinkles and a few strands of white hair soon.

13 July 2009 (Mon) - Bowling

As my kakis were getting tired of playing Chor Dai Di on weekends, we decided to give bowling a try on 2 Sundays ago...

We first went for kopi and breakfast at my favourite haunt, Wang Cafe at Airport T3.. After filling our stomachs, 6 of us gathered at Tampines Safra bright and early to roll balls!

My mum was so eager!

Selecting the right balls...

Mother and Son - any similarities?

Her virgin throw...

Not bad for her first attempt - 8 pins!

Desmond and Melvin having the same scores after their 5th throw...

Mum got a total of 60 in the first round... I can't laugh at her cause I am not much better!

So cool... got her own ball...

So lousy score despite having her own customised ball...

Round 2 scores.

Look who got a turkey!

Round 3 scores...

After a spicy lunch at Katong, we moved to my house for games.

Got guitarists... got drummer.... got audience....

I joined in the game... not easy coordinating my movement and hitting the right notes...

A fun day!
