September is finally over and 2.5 months more to go till my U.S trip!

So looking forward to that!

Going to have dinner with my trainer & his Mrs in an hour time... Shahi Maharani at Raffles City... North Indian Curries here I come!

24 Sep 2009 (Fri) - Meeting is over!

Hurray! My meeting with the Group CEO is OVER!

I was nervous… anxious and curious with what to expect from him… so it came as a relief that he didn’t shoot much arrows at me lah! I can finally sleep well tonight!

Next up… meeting with another CEO (TFT) in Dec… will start worrying about that in Nov!

23 Sep 2009 (Wed)

Hmm… I feel guilty for not blogging… but I have nothing much to write about…

Life… has been hectic…. Or maybe not… but I am sure occupied with more work…

Some updates:

1) My uncle and auntie’s operations were successful. Uncle has been discharged and is now at home, recuperating from his surgery… auntie is still in ICU, her doctors are monitoring to see if there is any rejection to her new kidney transplant. I totally admire my uncle’s courage for donating a kidney to his wife!

2) Big boss from London is in town this week! I have a meeting with him this Thursday afternoon… I am holding my breath till then...

3) I have received a few credit card bills on Friday and had spent my Hari Raya long weekend in shock and disbelief…. I felt like a piece of shit and for a moment, I suspected that the banks have miscalculated my bills or someone has stolen my Tangs card and went on a shopping spree…. only I wish lah… “Hope is not a strategy” as quoted by my lady boss. Got to do something to control my spendings… Or simply drop dead and die!

4) Mooncakes!! Mid-Autumn festival! Pls hor… to all Chinese out there… the event/ celebration is called “Mid-Autumn Festival”, NOT “Lantern Festival”… and definitely not “Mooncake Festival”… To celebrate, I have bought Durian Mooncakes from Jade Peony and Goodwood Park Hotel. Yummy delicious!

Got to go for lunch… and back to more work. Bye!

17 Sep 2009 (Thu) - ....................

Sorry for not updating... I have been busy... lazy.... will try to blog tomorrow...

12 Sep 2009 (Sat) - Vintage

Never learn to appreciate anything vintage before, especially cars… but I was totally blown away by this super duper sexy, dark blue mercedes classic that I have came across while topping up petrol on last Sat…

Sexy or not?!

Can’t say the same for the owner of the car though… :-)

Another set of vintage wheels…

Picture taken somewhere in Katong... didn't manage to take a closer shot.

Here, one more “elegant” timeless beauty

HAHAHHAA!

11 Sep 2009 (Fri) - Baby Ethan

Introducing Baby Ethan!

Born 06 Sep 2009 (7.41pm) to Jeslyn and Teck… under the sign of Virgo.

I have visited both mother and baby on Wed… both are well, resting at home now… Ethan is tiny, so fragile but simply beautiful… Most of my friends are becoming mothers… busy expanding their broods… I can’t help but wonder when will it be my turn…

Argh! I hate myself. I hate my life.

07 Sep 2009 - Thai Festival and Pictures

It has been quite awhile since I last went shopping by myself… not that I mind shopping alone… Infact, I quite enjoy it… strolling at my own pace… entering the shops only if I want to… having coffee and people watching… hmmlife!

So last Sat while waiting for Melvin to trim his hair, I roamed the streets of Orchard by myself…

I was walking from Forum to Scotts Isetan while I passed by the Thai Royal Embassy… they were having a fair as part of their 8th Thai Festival in Singapore… There were performances, stalls selling clothes, costume jewellery and FOOD!.. I didn’t dare to try the food though… they were selling deep fried fatty slices of pork.. and one stall was even selling a huge chuck of disgusting unknown meat… looked like the heart of some poor animal (maybe a cow)… gross… and I wonder how the Thai people manage to stay so petite with all the “healthy” food…

It was really warm on Sat afternoon so after walking on the streets for awhile, I went indoors to cool myself down… no more pictures on my mini excursion… instead sharing some pictures of my Auckland cousins

Bye!

05 Sep 2009 (Sat) - Some thoughts...

Just got to know yesterday that a good friend of mine is actually married with 2 kids.. it came as a real SHOCK... for the 7 years that I have known him... he has always been carefree... seldom hear him talk about having a gf... thus totally did not expect him to be actually married, moreover to have 2 kids already...

I'm happy for him because it's good news to have a family... yet slighty pissed with him for hiding his marriage and birth of kids from us... 'us' meaning me and the rest of the group who hang out together...

I wondered what prompted him to finally reveal this secretive part of his life with me yesterday... but I remembered I felt like fainting during the conversation over lunch.... don't know if the fainting feel is due to the piece of news or from the grease in air at Sakae Sushi...

God... I hate having menses... it always make me bloated for more than a week... I feel as huge as a cow and just as attractive as a lizard now.... not to mention the pre-menstrual backaches that I have to endure... and I feel tired, hungry and grumpy all the time... sian!

Since I am already whining... might as well pour out my other grievances... my mother-in-law drives me crazy... not normal crazy... but real crazy kind of madness. Everytime I want to bring my father-in-law and her out for dinner, she is bound to have something wierd to say. I remembered during last year father's day or my father's-in-law birthday... she actually said why do we want to bring him out for dinner... "eat for what?" she asked... before saying my father-in-law is so greedy...???!!!

Earlier this year... when we wanted to bring them out for dinner to celebrate father's day... it's the same thing again... she declined to go for the dinner... and we ended up postponing the dinner...

You would think that she is the independent sort who doesn't need/ want our attention??... Wrong!... cause she asked my husband to go all the way from Pasir Ris to Tanjong Pagar just to buy her Milo mix... char siew buns etc... Most recently, she also asked us to bring her out for dinner as she is free on Fridays and Saturdays...

So we did exactly that... we make time to bring them out for a nice dinner today... guess her response>>... she refused to join again! Her reasons: She didn't like the food that we intend to have... She may not be free this Sat or next Sat... My father-in-law is coughing etc...

Come on! We can always compromise on the food to have... but what's with the strange behaviour?

Others would have thought we are unfillial... seldom bring them out.

Poof......

See there is just so much pent up frustration in me... which probably explains the headaches every morning.

Anyway, we are going for the dinner with/ without her. Just don't phone me again to meet her for dinner.

On separate note... my 6th uncle and aunt are going for kidney transplant next week... my uncle (my mum's youngest brother) is donating his kidney to his wife who is suffering from kidney failure for the past 10 years.. I wish them well... hoping that they will both have smooth surgeries and speedy recovery. May God bless them.

Got to go change and accompany Melvin for his haircut now....

Wishing myself... all the best with the dinner!

01 Sep 2009 - KNS & Joke

Hello .. my friends… and family.

I am totally exhausted today… tired to the bone. I have yawned like 50 times since morning. It’s kinda of hard to differentiate on whether I am tired due to pure laziness (because I do get 8hrs of sleep everyday) or am I not just getting enough Quality sleep. I have been having dreams for the past 1 week or so… strange dreams… anyway too private to share them with you, but I assure you that these dreams are not the “wet” kind lah!

Exhaustion aside… I want to blog about the pantry auntie at my work place… she is ~70 years old… and she is friendly… perhaps a little over friendly? Because she did the... ultimate... unspeakable act of asking me the forbidden question!!

KNS. NNP.

She asked me if I have put on weigh yesterday!! Like HELLO… even a child will know that you are NOT supposed to ask a girl/ lady/ auntie/ or even a granny if they have grown fatter!!

Of course, I know I have gained a few pounds… but saying that in my face!!..... sob sob… just let me die.

With a serious passion for food, I’m sure it’s not going to be easy for me to eat less… With zero.. non-existent enthusiasm for any sports or exercises, I am certain that it going to be a tough fight to lose that extra few pounds.

I am so not going to share the photos taken at Sentosa liao. Because I looked FAT. Booohhooooo… sob sob…..

*Collecting myself after the emotional breakdown*

Melvin wanted to buy a formal jacket and pants for his seminar.. so off we went to G2000 and Zara to shop shop on last Sunday… He tried several designs at both shops and finally decided on a G2000 suit. However, we found the suit too expensive… S$299 for the jacket and S$119 for the pants…. So we decided to just buy the jacket only…

At this point, my mum… being helpful…approached the shop assistant and all I could hear was… “Miss ah, got discounts anot?”… I didn’t catch the rest of their conversation, but she came back excitedly and said to me that there is a promotion for the jacket… “Buy the jacket and you can get magic pen for free!” in mandarin.

I was like… ok… why would I want a magic pen??

And so I approached the same shop assistant to enquire further but she only mentioned that if I spent over S$150, I can apply for their prestige member card. Feeling abit paiseh… I hurried back to my mum and said that no promotion lah.

Being a rather stubborn/ determine person, she asked the shop assistant about the “magic pen” promotion again…

Mum to Shop Assistant: “You say got what promotion ah?”
Shop Assistant
: “Oh… You buy any jacket from this collection and you get a free pair of MATCHING PANTS.”

Yes… MATCHING PANTS… not MAGIC PEN.

:-)
