27 Nov 2010 (Sat) - Resort World & Lucas Pictures

Finally!!... I have some personal time to blog!...

Lucas has been keeping me very, very busy for the past week... he is now 2 months old and wants to be carried all the time... I'm sick & tired of the advices from friends and relatives on how I'm spoiling him by carrying him when he cries... SERIOUSLY, you have no idea on how loud his cries can be!! He will start with a mild "eh eh ah ah" cry.. to a louder "wa waa waaaa" before escalating to screaming fits ok!

But anyway.. I having been reading on how to care for a fussy baby (yes, I admit he is!)... and the baby doctor/ author actually advises all parents to carry their babies frequently... especially when they are crying... By ignoring them and letting them cry is telling your baby that you do not want to communicate with them - "shutting down parent-child communication, and in the long run everyone loses". Not sure how accurate this Dr. Sears is when it comes to understanding a baby's mentality... but can try his methods.. to read more at http://askdrsears.com/html/5/t051200.asp

Ending of this post with some pictures taken at Resort World - Hotel Festive, taken about 2 weeks ago...

19 Nov 2010 (Fri) - Argh!!!

I used to find it real amusing when my mum or my granny asked me which day of the week it was.. I mean how could anyone possibly lose track of time... so funny right...

And it happened to me this week! I thought today is a Thu... even after my maid asked me this morning if today is a Thu or Fri... I told her that it is a Thu... only came to find out my mistake when I was checking the date for this post... jialat or not??!!

I guessed staying at home everyday.. doing the same stuff regardless of weekday or weekend does this to a person... I can't wait to get back to work... :-)

This week is already the 11th week of my maternity leave.. and things have been especially tedious this week. Lucas has his first injection on Monday and had a slight fever for a day... I also changed his milk formula to battle his gastric refluxe problem ..only to make it worse as the new formula causes him to have diarrhea... so he has been crying and pooing alot more than usual for the past few days...

As for me.. I'm like a zombie as he wakes up several times each night... cleaning after him and trying to balance the both milk formulas to make it more comfort for him...

This is the first time that I am so utterly tired to even check my emails or to blog.. all I want to do is to sleep.. but when I finally find the time to lie down, I just couldn't sleep..

Hope things will get more settled next week.

09 Nov 2010 (Tue) - Pictures of Lucas Boy...

My colleagues asked me to send them pictures of Lucas and I realised that the pictures that I have of him.. he is either sleeping or crying.. so I made the extra effort to take some photos of him when he is awake and not crying!

These photos are taken last week.. when he is about 5 weeks old.

~ Morning.. while waiting for his bath... playing with his play gym toy...

Finally got him to take a nap... he is especially grumpy in the afternoon...

02 Nov 2010 (Tue) - 9 weeks and counting

Time really flies... it is already the 9th week of my 18-week long maternity leave..

It seems like not so long ago my baby was still in my tummy... and now he is 5 weeks old.. with only half my maternity leave left, there are still many things I would like to do... like lose that remaining stubborn 2kg.. get some new clothes for work... a haircut.. But with a baby who needs your attention every other hour, it is almost impossible to have that much personal time for these luxuries..

I'm a person who is afraid of changes in life but have learn to cope with changes/ challenges that were thrown to me throughout the years.. yet I can't help but feel overwhelmed sometimes. Caring for a baby is so tiring.. having said that, I must confess that I do get regular help from my mum and maid.. but still it is extremely exhausting when the baby wants to be fed, cleanse, carried constantly.

We have friends who refuse to have kids as they feel that having children is a life long commitment.. I can totally relate to that.. the amount to time, attention and money spent is seriously not a joke. Yet the smell, smile and feel of your own child in your arms is so amazing that nothing else in the world can be compared to it. But ask me if I will have another baby.. haha.. let me think about it again. The 10 months of pregnancy is not joke when morning sickness stayed with me till the 6th month. The confinement is also very sian period for me.. totally hate staying at home everyday.

My mum says that I will forget these and very soon I will be ready to have another baby.. let's wait and see!
