30 April 2009 (Thu) - Super Duper BeeZee

Wow, this week has passed in a blink of an eye... It’s already Thursday!

I was working on a complicated workshop and there are just so many details to iron out - flights, visa, accommodation and course materials for 4 trainers. I was on long distance call for 3 hours straight on Wednesday, trying to get the right flights for my trainers who are based in London and Paris. I am exhausted! This project is killing me and boy am I glad that it is finally coming to an end.

Apart from work, my dear mummy is unwell and I have got to accompany her for checkup last Monday and next Tuesday too. Hope that she gets well soon. I think all the time on staying at home alone is making her depressed over her condition.. she is becoming paranoid and in turn driving us crazy.

But still YIPPY! Long weekend! I want more sleep and spend more time with my darling doggy! Oh yeah… got to do my laundry and help my mum with her housework too. I know I am turning into a dowdy auntie… but what’s new…

Busy busy…

Have you been to the newly renovated Centrepoint recently? They have some fast food outlets at their B1 and a few small eateries at B2. I was there last evening and super duper pissed during the whole dinner.. The whole of B1 and B2 were reeking of greasy smoke from all that deep frying at the kitchens of the restaurants and eateries.

The flow of the air was so bad.. You can literally wipe the grease off your face loh! And I was carrying my new bag so now my bag smells like Long John Silver fish and deep fried wantons!

Plus, it was still so crowded even at 8pm! We had to queue and queue for the noodles…

God, I really hate to queue and all that grease is enough to keep me away from Centrepoint for the next 10 years (regardless of whatever fantastic sales that Robinson may hold)..

So I'm officially broke, penniless, cleaned out.. but I have gotten another present for myself..

Amanda Metallic Mini-Skinny

Now.. I want this..

Oh God, pls forgive me for being so extremely greedy.

25 April 2009 (Sat) - Random

Jesus! The weather is unbelievably hot!

The air is stifling and I have been perspiring non-stop today. The oppressive heat just made me feel like hiding in my air-con room and do absolutely nothing for the whole day.

Now I really wish to have my mum here to do my ironing for me… ‘sigh’ x 2.. when I looked at the huge pile of clothes in my laundry basket.

On a happier note, these are some of the presents that I have gotten on my 30th birthday.

Crabtree Rosewater Lotion and Body Powder.. I especially love this rose range and have been using their body wash, hand lotion and parfum for some time. I won't encourage you to buy cause I don't want others to smell the same as me... *selfish lah...

Turbo Lash from Estee with compliments from my bro and sis.. Switch on the battery and it is surposed to spread the mascara evenly, giving you the most extensive lashes ever . I haven't try it so shall review another day.

I am currently using Lancome mascara (into my 5th stick already).. the custom waterproof one, and I have nothing but praises for it! It is a little costly but it delivers its promise of being waterproof. Apply 2 coats for work or 4 coats for party.. you can go up to 6 coats without getting clumps. So far it is the best! Maybeline mascara always smudge before the end of the day, giving me the tired look.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle 'Twist & Spray" Eau de Toilette also from my bro and sis.. see I am v.important in their hearts so I get good presents from them!.. It is very handy to bring it out with you and it comes with 2 bottles of refills.

Actually, I have been using the same Eau de Parfum for the past 2 years.. I think I have finished 2 or 3 bottles.. I fell in love with this fragrance when I had lunch with a friend's friend who was wearing the parfum then... I was so mesmerized with scent there and then. I had to get it but was quite broke and I think my mum sponsored the 1st bottle. I L.O.V.E you, mum! + Thanks for the big angbao!

My wound has healed but there is a scar... 'sob'...

:-)

24 April 2009 (Fri) - Pistol Pink

Pink is IN!

PINK - the color that represents the girly sweet cutie-pie in each of us (girls/ ladies/ aunties)! Pink is bold. Pink is cool. Don’t be shy… Embrace it!

I have… and I did… in embracing pink for this season… presenting my… new bag!

Heck with the recession! I have finally decided on indulging myself with a new bag. Wishes do come true.. heehee.. Got someone sponsored part of it... But I paid for most part of it...

It's from the Hamptons Archive (10th anniversary) range...

Now... I am quite broke.. but I have a new bag to keep me happy for 2 months...

Don't worry, I have no plans to turn into giant Hello Kitty.

Have a great weekend!

Oh.. one last thing.. my new friend is getting married soon... Congrats!

21 April 2009 (Tue) - Sore Loser

Life is like a roller coaster ride… sometimes up and sometimes down… every so often you go in circles..

Are you up for it?

Well, things have been rather disappointing for me in the past couple of weeks… both work and personal expectations are not met. Especially so on my personal expectation. I can’t help but lament… Why is it so easy for others but tough for me? Every time when I want something, I have got to work twice as hard for it - and I am still a step behind.

I have really been looking forward to it, but I guess I have got to try harder.. yet again.

All I can say is that disappointment is always the hardest to stomach.

YES, I know that I am a sore loser.

17 April 2009 - It's all about bags

On my way to meet my colleague in Orchard, I came across this TV advertisement on the bus…

It goes something like - “Be thankful that there are still things that you want but have not gotten… Because if you possess everything, then there is nothing for you to look forward to…”

Meaningful?

I am tore between a Yes and a No.. What will you choose?

To have everything now or leave something for you to look forward to? Leave your answer (Yes/ No) in my Shoutbox..

I would love to have everything in the world, but I guess I am also happy with what I have now.. Flickered minded or just being plain greedy?!?! I am girl, what do you expect? ;-p

Just read online that Air France and Cathay are losing lots (billions) of money.. Nokia is cutting down on their manpower too…

Obama did indicate that economy may be recovering soon right? When huh?

Business has not picked up in March and April for us..

So it is really a “Dog eat dog” / “Survivor of the fittest” world out there now…

Back to the Orchard topic, I was out shopping for a bag with my colleague, Kris.. We were interested in Raoul handbags and I wanted to buy a black calf leather medium size handbag.. only to realize that the quality of the calf leather wasn’t very durable.. the shiny pecks of the leather came off rather easy.. it will look wore out very soon… so for $370, we decided it was just not worth it.

Moving on to Kate Spade.. there was a sale going on for some of the items.. there was a couple of bags that I like but found the colour too bright.. finally we settled on one bag that was on 50% discount and the both of us wanted to buy.. but… But… BUT… *sob sob… the last piece was on display and there was a few loose threads on the handle…

And so we continued with our shopping.. At Coach, they were displaying a new range of handbags and I fell in love with 2 designs… SO PRETTY!.. However, the prices were higher than my budget so it was with a heavy, heavy heart that I left the store..

How I wish I do not have to pay income tax.. so I can spend that portion of $$ on a new bag…

When I tell Melvin later on, that I didn’t manage to buy any bags… I bet he was thanking his God deep in his heart…

15 April 2009 (Wed) - Zzz + 780

Zzz.. this is what I feel like doing now… except I am at my work desk.. so dozing off is out of the question. Instead, I have gone out to get myself a cup of strong coffee to keep me awake.. One of the nicest kopi around Harbourfront Place is from Wang Café.. thick and aromatic. I don’t like those expensive coffee from Spinelli or Starbucks… never learn to appreciate them..

Don’t know if you share my view, but Wednesday always seems so slow.. the day is dragging on forever… I have finished my work and reports and I so look forward to 6pm. Pls don’t see me as a calculative employee who always leave at 6 sharp… I comes into the office much earlier than anyone else… sometimes before 8am..

The swelling on my left foot has gone down considerably.. and I managed to squeeze my feet into 3-inch heels today… heeheee… you can never take the vanity out of a girl!

Come to think about it.. I didn’t cry or scream that much when I extracted 4 teeth at one go for braces back when I was 16 yr old.. as compared to the recent stitching for my nasty cut where I cried uncontrollably… I must be too driven to correct my hideous set of teeth then… Vanity simply brings out the courage in you! Oh.. in this case.. I may need a new bag to calm my fear of removing the stitches… should look into that… *wink*

I watched the Fast & Furious 4 last night… the movie is fast-paced, plenty of actions and most importantly, Paul Walker is real cute in the rugged way!.. Just 1 point which puzzled me to no end… if the FBI are staking out for Vin Diesel, why is it he can still stay with his sister and work on his car at the garage?!.. Either the FBI are totally incapable or Vin Diesel can go invisible.. Curious Case of Vin Diesel..

Have I blogged about this Uncle colleague of mine before?.. I think I did.. Well, let’s call him “Uncle 780”.. he is probably in his mid-fifties.. not really fat but rather paunchy…

Check:
paunch·y (pôn ch , pän -) KEY ADJECTIVE: paunch·i·er , paunch·i·est
Having a potbelly.

On previous occasions, he enquired about my salary in the lift… asked me to invite him to lunch… commented countless time that I resemble his friend, Dr. Quek (a man ok!)… And the way he looks at you…

Good Lord!.. it creeps me no end.. No one in the office talks to him and try to avoid him as much as possible.

In short, Uncle 780 is quite a freak… (I know it is rude, but trust me that ‘freak’ is the most appropriate way to label him.)

When I stepped into the pantry today, there he is.. there is really no avoiding him loh… Uncle 780 glanced at me from head to toe and he said in his most seductive/ charming/ charismatic tone “When is the last time you asked me out for lunch?”…

……………………………………………………..???..........................................

When did I ask him out for lunch before? He self-invited himself the last time, but pull out when he knows my other colleagues joining too…

I do not know if he is attempting to be just friendly and I am over reacting.. but seriously, can’t he be more natural? What’s with the “When is the last time you asked me out for lunch?”??

Now on this super sleepy Wednesday, I suddenly feel so 'popular and sexy'.

13 April 2009 (Mon) - I'm old or what?!

Is age catching up with me real fast or my baby cousins growing up faster than I thought they will??

With much persuasion, I managed to convince my cousins, JiaHao (18 yr old), YiJun (16 yr old) and YiTian (14 yr old) to reveal their blog addresses to me.

I thought they will probably blog mainly about their school life… computer games or occasional outings… but NO loh… their blogs reveal a very different side of them. These quiet adolescent cousins of mine have grown up discreetly and we have failed to notice…

I read through briefly and plucked these juicy bits to share with you… (Hey boys, don’t be angry… since you posted these contents online, then it open to the public)…

1) http://eminent-jiahao.blogspot.com/
He is only 18 yr old but he is sure ambitious! Planning to conquer the world judging by his Wish List.

“1)Rich enough to buy anything I want 2)Condo 3)Car 4)Driving license 5)Girlfriend 6)Braces 7)Complete NS 8)Jacket 9)Spectacles”

These are his wishes for the next 11 years - Point no.1 is already is very difficult to achieve… “JiaHao, if you have that much cash in near future, can you also buy me that Chanel Bag that I have been eyeing for the longest time pleasssse? Oh, and pls don’t get the wrong one - refer to the below link.”

In exchange, I will try to help you in achieving Point no. 5 – the girlfriend thingy… ;-)

2)
http://ans0nn-imprint.blogspot.com/
I am actually quite disappointed with his blog.. Yi Jun is one of my hipper cousins and I expect more exciting details on his life… he didn’t even mention much on his girlfriend… tsk tsk...

He wrote:
“hahas, I can’t cope with life.
I have no motivation to move on…
……..
……..
I must admit I am not happy with life.
……..
And I am putting a fake smile everyday.”

Welcome to adulthood, Yi Jun. This is exactly what happens when you enter adulthood… Objectives seem harder to reach, competition drives friends apart etc etc.. You sounded aimless… so maybe you can come up with a Wish List (like me and JiaHao) to keep you motivated with your life! Lastly, pls try to add in some sparks to your blog posts! Some juicy details pleassse!

3) http://run-the-road.blogspot.com/
I love his posts – very blunt and amusing!

Read:
“we went there.sing some stupid songs to cheer those old folks.then sing somemore.then sing somemore again. then went laming around with the old folks.”

No love lost between him and the old folks.. extremely frank and mean.. I kinda pity the old folks.. "I have heard you sing before, Tian"..

Read on:
“im sick of the same routines, and studying so much for the test.and i dun see the outcome of stress education in our country. well, life needs some reforms and revolution, don't we?"

I totally agree and have been campaigning for more freedom/ less stress since I was primary 3.

Read on and on:
“i began to think of this good fren, who i lost contact with over some time.talked to her ytd,and she said im always in her memory."i dun wanna be part of ur memory, i wanna be part of ur life."

So poetic right! I like his style.. Not afraid to love and not hesitant to hate! Way to go boy!

Wahahahahahaa! You boys guys are simply great! And I look forward to your next post! Update soon!

12 April 2009 (Sun) - Sunday

I have received several phone calls to ask how am I, thanks for the concerns!

Another long day at home.. the swelling has gone down alittle.. hopefully will heal in time for work tomorrow..

I am so bored.. been doing laundry and ironing.. I want to go SHOPPING!

Sigh.. wishing myself a speedy recovery!

11 April 2009 (Sat) - Tomb Sweeping Pictures

My feet is swollen today and I now have fat sausage toes. It hurts when I try to walk, so I am bounded to the couch for the rest of my weekend.

What a great way to spend my long weekend! *Pissed*
As you see, our tomb sweeping expedition started fine.. Not too sunny but not raining either.

I was interviewing this dog on behalf of my darling Poppy Doggy... prospect husband for her.. lean and mean is how she likes like mate... Wahaha!

Started drizzling but we kept ourselves occupied with silly jokes and latest gossip.

This is the narrow pathway before the flood.. you can still see soil and drain next to it.

You see the angry dark clouds looming above us..

My sis loves to take pictures recently...

My ultra big brolly - my partner in the rescue mission ...

Made a temporary shelter to shield the offerings from the heavy rain.

Last few photos taken before the ordeal.. see how heavy the rain was and most of us were drenched.

--- In between, ppl slipped into the overflooding drains. Read http://lusheil.blogspot.com/2009/04/10-april-2009-fri-sibei-suay.html on how I got my swollen feet. ---

We continued praying after the downpour. Below - my relatives making their way back to the cars.

LV anyone? Limited Cherry Blossom series available at only selected stores.

We moved on to the 2nd tomb.. see how the sky has cleared within an hour...

The uncle that I tried to save... he has got some cuts on his fingers...

The guy in white is the cousin who pull me out of the drain..

My great-grandnanny... she was still around when I was young.

Abit lonely this year as his gf wasn't in Singapore...

The guilty uncle who helped the first uncle who fell but fail to notice that I was still in the drain...

My drama mama.. kind of freaked out seeing ppl (including her precious ME) being washed away.

Soaked to the skin.. nice hair though...

Cousin Jia jia... I promised not to use her pet name on my blog...

Her brothers... one of them has a 6-packed abs...

- HUAT AH! -

The grandaunt who bought the "LV" and rocking chair...

Visited my baby cousin who passed away years ago... he was one of the most beautiful babies I have seen...

Last but not least... I warned you on eating while reading my blog...

My nasty cut... blood was still oozing out this morning...

My swollen left foot.. scratch on my right foot... and the scraped skin where the sugar cane shavings got stucked on my left hand...
