29 Feb 2012 (Wed) - Welcoming March

February is finally going to end.. what a slow month it has been!

December and January have been interesting with 3 major holidays.. X'mas, New Year and then Chinese New Year.. keeping me busy and happy as X'mas and CNY are my all-time favourite festivals! And then came February.. which was totally boring.. and I sort of feel blue. As I tried to pass time doing lots of cooking and washing... did the bedsheets, curtains, baby stroller, toilets. The weather was perfect for it as my washes dried almost instantly.

And I have been going out every other day often too.. bringing ah-fat bb shopping at Nex and Orchard because it is just dreadful staying at home everyday. Seriously, I don't know how anyone can stand staying at home and watching TV and doing housework everyday. I have been staying at home since Sep 2010.. almost 1.5 year to date and I still can't get used to the whole stay-at-home routine without getting bored.

Anyway, March is going to be exciting!

With several birthdays coming up.. this means we are gonna have several birthday celebrations! Besides this, we are going to to Universal Studio again on this Sat! (Sis, I wanna go on the roller-coasters again and YOU are soooo going with me, haha!).. Followed by karaoke with my extended family on next weekend! Planning to take lots of photos!

For now.. a few pictures taken recently...

Ah-fat smiling cheek to cheek because his daddy was wrapping him up like a cocoon!

We bought a toy stroller for him as he was enjoying it so much at OG on last Fri.. this is him pushing his pooh bear around first thing in the next morning!

And ah-fat on the toy stroller.. gonna break it anytime!

Met up with Jes and Ethan at Nex for the past 2 Fridays..

Ah-fat likes Abel so much leh.. can't say the love is reciprocal.. just looks at Abel's expression!

21 Feb 2012 (Tue) - Walking Dead Season II Ep 8

I love watching horror movies.. especially the recent Walking Dead TV series set in the post-apocalyptic future! Caught the 1st season (6 episodes) early last year and waited forever for the 2nd season (14 episodes) to air in last Oct.. AMC (the production company) obviously has a weird sense of humor.. because.... after airing only the first 7th episodes.. they decided to leave us craving for more by holding the last 7 episodes to only air in Feb! WTH right? @#$%^*&^!!

And so I waited and waited.. and re-watched the entire season 1 and first 7 eps of season 2 while waiting..

FINALLY! Ep 8 & 9 was aired last week and I can watch them from www.tom365.com . I haven't watch the 2 eps yet because I have been busy.. but I am so going to watch them tonight!

Totally L.O.V.E the Walking Dead series! Plot is exciting yet it is realistic! One of the best TV series I have watched so far!

On a different note, I have a facebook account like after a zillion years. Yes, I know that I am out-dated but seriously.. I don't have much friends that I wanna keep in touch with.. so I never see the need to have a facebook account. But my sis helped me set up an account.. and here I am.. cannot believe that I am actually enjoying it... that is after changing my account setting to have more privacy.

16 Feb 2012 (Thu) - Dinner at Feng Shui Inn, RWS

Desmond & Sally treated us to a very nice dinner at Feng Shui Inn recently. It was situated at Crockfords Tower in RWS and it was our first time eating there...

Took some pictures at the forum before walking over to the restaurant..

At Crockfords Tower.. very atas hotel.. the restaurant equally atas..

Everyone wants a picture before going in..

Sour & Spicy Soup.. quite a big bowl and lots of "ho liao" in the soup..

While some of them had Sour & Spicy Soup, I had Double-boiled Soup of the Day... Don't know what was the exact ingredients used, but it was very yummy and rich!

We also had............
French Beans fried with Minced Pork..

Salted-Egg Yolk Prawns

Kung-Po Chicken

Asparagus fried with Scallops

Peking DUCK! Instead of the traditional crepe that is used to wrap the crispy duck skin, Feng Shui Inn served these super soft Po Luo Bao..

The duck meat was used to fry this big plate of mee suan..

We ended the super satisfying dinner with Mango & Pomelo dessert.

The ambience, quality and quantity of food at Feng Shui Inn were so much better than Mong Hing Restaurant that we went to during CNY.. and the price difference was only $80!

Look forward to eating there again!

11 Feb 2012 (Sat) - I need more zzzzz...

Im typing this entry on my iphone while lying on my bed, eyes wide open since 6am. My whole sleeping pattern has been really messed up by Lucas as he has been waking up every other hour since a week or two ago. I have no idea what is causing to wake up crying at nights.. And him being sick for the past 2 days didnt make things any better.

So i try going to bed before 10am.. But waking up at least 4 times each night is totally killing me. Being a mum does train you up to be a tougher person. I needed so much more rest before i had Lucas and i just couldnt imagine surviving on so little sleep everyday. But i did anyway.

It just makes me apreciate my mum even more these days.

8 Feb 2012 (Wed) - CNY Day 6 & 7

CNY Day 6
And on CNY Day 6, we were invited to my aunt's place at Chu Yen Road.. it was a very new house and this was our 2nd year there..

Some of us were singing in the Karaoke Room.. Some playing Chor Dai Di... and some taking photos non-stop!

Adorable yet fierce chow choe doggies! They are huge loh!

And it was Dinner Time!

My aunt prepared a quite spread for us loh.. there was braised pork knuckle with beancurd, wuxiang, fried crispy prawns, mixed vege, sambal eggs, braised chix feet with mushrooms and mixed balls soup! Pls invite us over every year leh!

Most of us were hungry and we attacked the buffet line when it was served!

CNY Day 7
Jackson treated us to dinner at Mong Hing Teochew Restaurant which turned out to be so expensive! It wasn't one of those atas restaurants, yet they raised their prices so high during CNY! What will cost us ~S$150 on a normal day, costed us S$250 on CNY "Chu 7"!

Judge for yourself...

Ridiculously small plate of Yu Sheng...

Each of us got a small bowl of "sharkfin + fish maw + crab meat" soup.. Tasty but where's the sharkfin huh?

Prawn Rolls..

Crayfish fried with chilli, eggs and onions.. this plate costed $40 and there was barely enough for all of us.. btw, each crayfish was cut into quarters..

Compared to the spread that we had at Feng Shui Inn, RWS yesterday.. I guess I won't be going to Mong Hing for a long time. We had so much more food at Feng Shui Inn.. bigger portions and more expensive items such as prawns, scallops.. the ambience was much classier and we only paid about S$80 more than the dinner at Mong Hing. Will blog about yesterday dinner in another post.

Ending this post with some pictures taken before the above dinner..
