26 Oct 2010 (Tue) - Lucas' 1st Mth Celebration

Last weekend, we celebrated Lucas' 1st month by having a mini-party at home... didn't take much photos as I was busy catching up with friends/ colleagues/ family..

Grumpy boy...

Am very touched by everyone generosity... Thanks once again!

20 Oct 2010 - Daily Activities

My daily activities for the past 3 weeks...

7am - Wake up to see Melvin off to work.. okok.. actually to hand bb Lucas to my mum who is on the morning/ afternoon shift...

8 to 10am - Have breakfast (usually bread & milo), feed Lucas & Poppy their medicine while I have my daily supplement, bath Lucas, then finally (me) having a shower.

10 to 11.30am - Checking my work emails (because no one actually send me any personal email).. surfing the net.. enjoying whatever personal, quiet time I can squeeze in for myself..

12noon - Lunch.. usually rice.. with either pork/ fish/ chicken and vege fried in alot of ginger, rice wine, plus bottles of chicken essence.. too nutritious and incredibly heaty for my liking.. I swear I don't even eat this much ginger in a year! But good in a way, cause it's killing my appetite that I have built up in my last month of pregnancy.. No appetite = eat less = lose weight = happy me!

1 to 3pm - Trying to take a nap.. you would think that it should be easy for a sleep deprived person like me to knock out immediately.. but the afternoon heat is making it so difficult for me to fall into deep sound sleep.

4 to 6pm - Free time or not during this slot depends solely on Lucas.. if he is soundly asleep, I get to watch abit of TV.. if not, it is usually spend pacifying/ carrying him around before I have to repeat the routine of cleaning & changing him..

7 to 9pm - Dinner time! Same kind of food cooked in plenty of sesame oil, ginger, wine.. argh! Feed Lucas and Poppy their medication again.. then I will watch TV before I try to go to bed early to prep for the long night ahead.

Side track alittle, I totally can't figure why Mediacorp is showing the stupid Taiwanese "Ai" (Love) series at the prime slot of 7 to 8pm! Damn lame show and it's real funny on how the actors always have to "explain" their actions or thoughts by talking to themselves! The producer is obviously very kind as he is afraid that we "the audience" may have difficulty following the show!

10am to 6am - Night duty lah! Feed him, change diapers, burp and finally tucking Lucas to bed.. only to repeat the whole process 2 to 3 hrs later.. and do you know that they are repeating the chinese drama series "Holland Village" sometime in the night.. now you know what's my secret in keeping myself awake to finish the feeds - is by watching more dramas!

Perhaps soon I will have enough materials/ experience to write the Memoirs of an Auntie...

15 Oct 2010 (Fri) - Boredom

I am so terribly, utterly bored!!!

After spending 3 weeks at my mum's place waiting for my bb to pop.. and now another 3 weeks at home for confinement... I declared that I am bored to the max and can't wait to go out for some shopping, good food, movies, manicure... Argh!

I'm a physco... yes... but I sort of miss my working days!

Seriously, I can't wait for the whole confinement thingy to end.. so many rules to adhere to.. worst of all - Confinement means that I'm placed under house arrest for the entire month! Even though I am feeling well and have been up and about since Day2 (after I delivered the bb), I have been 'advised' to stay at home as I should not be walking too much and minimum contact with water/ wind.. and whatever..

And so I have been staying at home, organising the buffet/ cakes/ invitation list for Lucas' first month celebration.. feeding Lucas and trying to catch a nap in the afternoon. Oh and watching 'huang jin nian hua' - the chinese variety show meant for senior citizens with my mum on every Friday afternoon. I used to hate this show as I find the off-pitch singing by the amateurs damn irritating.. Thus, I was real disguised (with me) when I found myself singing along with them today!

I am officially turning into an Auntie... a whiny auntie who enjoys off-key singing...

Guess I am not the housewife kind of material after all... counting down to the last week of confinement and being able to hit the malls again!

14 Oct 2010 - Baby Pics

Finally, I get to catch up on sleep today.. feeling much better than the past few days because bb Lucas was sick and terribly grumpy. He wanted to be carried before he dozed off to sleep, only to wake up a short while later.

Here's the overdue photos taken at the hospital and when we first came home... starting with my single-bed ward at Mt Alvernia...

Spacious day-bed for my visitors.. but must pay extra if my hubby wants to stay over for the night.. blood-sucker. See that swimming float.. very useful during the first few days!

Thank God for watching over us!

Gifts sent by our companies.. Diapers Cake and Car Seat.

More gifts from friends and relatives who came to visit... Chix Essence, Rice Wine, DOM and hamper.

Lovely customised bean bag from Auntie Jeslyn!

Big present that came during the first weekend... guess what!
