30 May 2009 (Sat) - HAHAHA!

Yeah!! Yippy!!! WooooHoooooo!!!!

I killed that disgusting giant mutant finally!! Like FINALLY loh!

Just in case you wonder what the hell I am talking about - I am talking about the gross monster at stage 10 of Resident Evil Degeneration (Ipod version).

I spent like really many many days on it and realised at last, that I can't kill it simply with bullets/ grenades but have to switch on 2 controls.. and guess how did that bloody creature die??!! I made minced meat out of it!!! Haha! He was sucked into plane's propeller! Smart or what??!~! (I know I am haolian lah!)

Some pictures taken last week:

Beautiful Red roses - you can get about 20 stalks of them at less than S$10 at Thomson Road.

The 3 packs of beehoon that I fried last week... super alot loh...

Great Singapore Sales has started!!! I know I have promised myself not to shop... but can resist these strappies?? Usual price is $89 but I got them at 70% OFF (20plus only)!!

My poppy guard dog.. patrolling last weekend to ensure that my guests are not misbehaving!!

Back on GGS... we wanted to buy this statue but it was simply too exp at S$350... today we happened to pass by this shop and it was on 30% +5% discount sales!! Hahaha! Too good to be true!

Good night!

27 May 2009 (Wed) - Shop shop, Chop chop!

Does anyone play the IPod version of Resident Evil: Degeneration?

I have been hooked on this game since I bought it on last Friday. I have been busy killing the zombies and have managed to clear 10 stages… BUT there is just this one huge zombie… no, not zombie… it’s a HUMONGOUS Mutant with 2 big claws at stage 10 that just refuses to die!! I have tried losing it by running in circles, firing hundred of bullets at this creature’s heart, and slashing it with my dagger… and it just refuse to DIE! I have used up all my bullets and he is still there.. meaning I am stuck at stage 10!

HELP! Pls let me know if you have any tips on destroying it.

I soooo want to stab it till it begs for mercy! Argh!!!

Other than trying to figure out this game, I have been busy with meeting up with friends and family at my house over the weekend. Jes and Teck came by to view my house on Saturday night and my family (about 15 of them) came by on Sunday. To cater for the group, I fried 3 packs of beehoons on Sunday. My mum, mum-in-law, my sis and her friend brought even more food but still we finished everything. We are like a huge pack of hungry wolves… never waste food, haha! And we played "Chor Da Di" for the whole afternoon and I lost ~$30.. damn unlucky! I always kanna those small 3, 4, 5, 6 cards!

And I have a confession to make.. I am out of controlI.. I couldn’t… couldn’t stop… stop shopping! My credit bill was like 2k last month and so I decided to cut down. Guess how much are my shopping this month… I have just got my bill…. Still super high at 1.2k!! Don’t know what I buy leh!! I hope my hubby is too busy to read my blog!

How to cut down?? I have the urge to buy anything and everything pretty that I came/ come across! HELP!!

Asking for help twice already in today’s post!

Maybe I should pick up reading again… but then I always cannot find the books that I want in library and end up buying them.

Maybe I need to find faith in God… been thinking of converting to Catholic for quite awhile.

Hmmm….

Moving on to some pictures:

Buffet lunch at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel (Cafe Brios) today... the "Kueh Pai Ti" (don't know if I spelled correctly) is yummy!

My lovely cousins in Auckland:

Have a good week!

22 May 2009 (Fri) - Silly Us!

So yesterday was Marutama Ramen day and Today Is.... Long John Silver Day!

4 of us (obviously quite free) were agonising over what to have for lunch.. Subway or LJS... Subway is a healthier choice... but since it is Friday so it shall be LJS!

Vissia and Angeline cosying up to each other...

Hmm... attempting a three-some with Phoebe in the picture!

Angeline threw a jealous fit so now it's back to just the 2 of them!

So for now, Phoebe and I are a pair... I don't know what's with the handphone pose... must be I fell down along the way and knock my head... I look retarded.

The person who took this picture got shaky hand leh...

Look at her plate! All fried and cheesy stuff!
"Dear God, if you can't make me thin, please at least make my ALL colleagues FAT. Thanks! Amen."

Naughty Naughty!

Afterwhich, we shopped (yet again) at Vivocity... I found a nice black hair ornament with feathers and all... tried it on... the result:

Like a mynah bird flew straight into my hair leh!
Silly day, silly us!

*Will be busy over the weekend so will update next week!

21 May 2009 (Thu) - Ramen

Have you tried the famous Marutama Ra-Men before?

If not, what are you waiting for leh? :-) They are supposedly very famous and one of the best in Japan... constantly featured in food magazines..

I am a huge fan of pasta, ramen and fried rice and yes, I know the carb is the main ingredient of cellulite… but I love my noodles and rice too much to give them up!

I was introduced to Marutama Ra-Men by an ex-colleague when he chose this Japanese ramen house for our quarterly gathering. Seriously, I find their ramen one of the best in SG loh. They have only 2 outlets here and the one that I often frequent is at Central Mall along Eu Tong Sen Street.. on Level 3.

You won’t miss it because it is always packed at dinner time and boy, the queue is super long!! I went last Friday and I had at least 10 groups of people waiting for a table in front of me! The 2nd outlet is at Liang Court.. well you should know where Liang Court is.

Presenting the Marutama Classic Ramen...

The ramen is slightly thinner than some of the others that I have tried in other restaurants.. but very springy.. I like!.. The chicken broth is thick and tasty, and they served it with a piece of fatty char siew, fresh seaweed and lots of finely chopped spring onion. You have to order the egg separately at S$1 per piece. You can add extra seaweed at S$4 per serving but I didn't. It costed S$17 per bowl plus S$1 for the egg. And they served ice water instead of the usual green tea.

The egg is hmmm... well seasoned and the egg yolk is still runny... just the way I like it! However, my hubby finds that the broth a tad too rich for his liking.

We ordered gyozas which were very appetizing as they were dipped in vinegar - very similar to 饺子. If I remember correctly, a plate of 6 gyozas costs S$5.

And we ordered grilled char siew for my fat hubby... I tried a small piece of the lean portion and it was delicious! Well marinated but slightly overpriced at S$7 for 4 pieces.

No portion is ever too much for this fat and greedy couple who wiped out everything. Hungry ok! Got to queue at least 30 to 40 min!

The restaurant is minimal decoration... very traditional Jap eating house where people eat and go.. open concept kitchen where you hear chefs taking orders from the waitresses in Jap..
Must try lah.

19 May 2009 (Tue)

Relationships can be a very strange thing.

You can be friends, lovers, siblings, colleagues one day… yet turn into foes tomorrow. Driven apart by the greed, third parties, miscommunication or the tinniest misunderstanding… Humans are real vulnerable.

I am guilty of dropping friends because I’m busy.. ignoring colleagues because I do not agree with their views.. but to cheat… it is something really way out of my boundary. To me, CHEATING should be one of the seven deadly sins.

I have been hearing more of cheating partners these days and am truly disturbed by the lack of loyalty between couples. Do you decide that you are incompatible first, break the current relationship off before searching for the next one? In reality, things happen the other way.

I do not know what is worse for some of you but I do think that ending a relationship at the incompatible stage has more integrity than ending a relationship after you have found someone else. At least you have the guts to walk out alone to start all over again. It is scary that the person that you have been sleeping with for years to wake up one day and say that you are simply not worth it.

Sigh… everything is fine between my hubby and me if you are wondering that I am hinting trouble in my world…

Just really affected by some of the failed relationships that happened to my close ones.

18 May 2009 (Mon) - Baby Asher

So cute right?... Baby Asher... my friends, Serena and Matt's pride and joy I'm sure!

Do I hear my biologcal clock ticking??...

:-)

15 May 2009 (Fri) - La.. La... Lala....

老娘 kanna questioned by my 老娘 for using “Fuck” and “Bitch” in my previous post….

My 老娘 called me close to midnight to interrogate me. So naturally, being hot-tempered, I quarreled with her which caused her to be extremely upset and emotional today.

She said I will be a bad example to kids and people will be shocked to know I am so foul-mouthed.

For people who doesn’t know me well… you should know by now.

For people who know but dislike my language… hmmm… may I suggest you do not visit my blog EVER.... again.

For people who know and are fine with it… then I welcome youI love you leh!

Honestly, can you blame me for being so angry? I meet with so many rude people these days!

Yesterday, I have a friend who “reminded” me to be faithful to my husband. Can you believe it? CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?? What makes you think I am the cheating sort????? 吃 大 便!

老娘不发火,你当我是病猫!@#$%^&*())_+!@#$%^& !

Enough on these retards… let’s move on to happier details of my life…

Gotten 2 creamy lipsticks from Bobbi Brown - Rose Petal and Heather Buff are 2 lovely colours that I have bought. Actually, I bought a lipstick from MAC just a couple of weeks ago but it is too matt, too drying for my lips...
Also, gotten MAC Green-Smoke eye colour on the same day!... Tried it on today and loving it! Smoking eyes... must ask my meancurd colleagues if it's nice or maybe not...

I was given a free seat at AquaMarine (Buffet Lunch) by the lovely people at Marina Mandarin today!.. Thank you Angeline, Fanny and Joreen! See... I "VIP" leh... heehee... not "Very Important Person" lah... I am behaving more like a "Very Idiotic Person"!!! HAHAHAHAHA!

Last of all... my incorrigible Poppy Darling lying with her legs wide open! "Poppy, have you got no sense of shame???"
I have absolutely no idea on how and when my 老娘 has learned to surf net and read blog. But she may secretly check on my blog tonight so... better leave a disclaimer here... shit!
小朋友,请不要学我,我是坏榜样。

13 May 2009 (Wed) - CB

Sinful day.. yet... again.

Had buffet lunch with my colleagues at Aquamarine (Marina Mandarin) again today…I didn’t curb myself and eat more than usual.. diet or no diet.. I had 3 plates of food! But again, it makes me happy… I will probably have a light dinner later…

I took a cab home yesterday and the bloody cab driver was damn rude… It is this type of people that give cab drivers a bad name! I was being polite, giving directions and asking if he has change for $50 note… he said “No”, so I try to look around for smaller notes for him… guess what he said.. damn no manners.. must be his mother never teach him… He said: “You should just give me the smaller notes if you have them in the first place.”…

Hello!!??

I wanted to keep the last 2 ten dollars for cab this morning because cab drivers always tell me they have got no small change in the morning… plus, I asked this skinny, curly hair uncle nicely.. I wasn’t rude… so what got into you??... Got a stick up your asshole?? It is not my fault that you look like a bloody grasshopper.. no need to bark ok. You are running your own business so why didn’t you have small notes for your passengers??!

So since he wanted to be rude… I gave him exactly that…

Confronted him on his remark and asked him to explain why can’t I ask if he has changes for my $50… Told him off that his comments were totally uncalled for.. then he just smiled like an slimy fargot and said “yes yes”… Fucker.

Since we are on the topic of manners… where is the graciousness?? Where have all the courteousness gone to??

I have people answering phone calls with “Ah”… huh… ??

I have people answering phone calls who know exactly who I am but refuse to greet before passing the phone calls on the person I am looking for…

I meet rude cab drivers…

I even met an extremely rude waitress at Aquamarine on Monday… she served tea with a hair in it… when my colleague got her to change, she just stared at my colleague, giving her a dirty look… WHAT… you expect my colleague to drink that hair? Why don’t you drink it first??!! You should apologise on behalf of the restaurant. Another fucker. Sure must complain to the hotel, will do exactly that after this blog!

When you get asked “How are you?”… how do you reply?

Do you say just “Fine”

Or “Fine. How are you?”??

When you get asked “Have you eaten?”… how do you reply?

Communications are both ways. Communications stop once it gets 1-way… True or False?

I do not expect phonecalls and messages every other day… but how about some care and concerns now and then?

A sincere greeting? Showing some affections? A big and cheerful “Good Morning” at the beginning of each day? Being an attentive listener??

Are care meant to be kept in your heart? Isn’t it more meaningful for you to show it instead?

Personally, I think Affection Without Actions are just an excuse for your laziness, sloppiness..

Like I say I care about the poverty in Africa while I sit on my big fat ass gorging on chips and popcorns.. I care deep down in my heart leh

I know my mum and mother-in-law get really happy when I called them to check on their well-being… Knowing that they are well made me happy too… Of course I do show my temper when I get irritated by their nagging too…

Fuck. I am getting too soft-hearted these days.. I think many people miss my old selfish, bitchy and sarcastic self.

Last of all, to a certain friend of mine… I am MARRIED for god sake. I am not a holy virgin but pls don’t take me as a tramp. We can be friends if you want.. unless you are not that interested being just friends.

I don’t feel better after writing all my frustrations down.

Maybe I should go shopping… oh… and I need to make that complaint call to hotel too.

I know the day is half gone… but try to enjoy the rest of the day!

11 May 2009 (Mon) - Blue...

I am not feeling well today. The sky matches my mood... grey and dull..

I am down with a flu and my nose is just like a faulty tap... drip drip... drip drip... drip drip drip...
Met up with my Poly classmates on Saturday! We gathered at Villa Bali, an Al fresco dining place serving Thai, Indonesian and Indian cuisines...

It has been more than 10 years since I last met with some of them. They haven't change much... and yes, they (the guys) do still giggle over silly stuff, tease us (the girls) and easily distracted with erm.. "the surroundings"... :-)

We have an event at Marina Mandarin Hotel so lunch at Aquamarine today... food only so-so and the service from their waitresses were "poor".

08 May 2009 (FRI) - Blow Hot & Cold

Singapore weather has turned crazy - bonkers, mad, bizarre and nuts!

It was extremely warm and humid last night, but the sky is all cloudy and dark this morning. I am sure that it will rain cats and dogs soon and probably drizzle for the rest of today.

Gosh, the heat last night… how to describe it?? It was so awfully hot even with the fan on. There I was, sitting in my living room, on MSN chatting with friends, doing nothing and sweating like a pig! Well, the main point is… I rarely sweat! My Auckland aunt used to ponder why I can wear long-sleeves cardigan/ sweaters and yet survived the Singapore weather. So imagine the kind of heat that managed to make me perspire a truckload!

Also, I was having my usual sinus problem, thus I didn’t switch on the air-con in the bedroom. But the ridiculous heat woke me up in the middle of the night… so heck with the sinus and I blasted the air-con till morning.

And now at my little corner here in the office, the ku-ku air-con (2 vents right above me) decided to turn even crazier than the weather. The air-con is blowing full on at me since I stepped in this morning. The building central air system is supposed to control the temperature and the air-con will adjust itself once a certain temperature is reached. So either the program has malfunctioned or temperature indicator has broken down… caused it is freezing like hell! I am cold, my skin is dry and all shriveled up.

I am a dried prune. WAHAHAHHA!

05 May 2009 (Tue) - Marina Barrage

Sometimes, my mood is like the Singapore weather. May be bright and sunny in the morning, but dark and moody in the afternoon. Or perfectly happy on Monday, but ridiculously mad on Thursday.

I was in super good mood over the weekend. Must be the effect of buying 2 bags in a month :-)

I am feeling at peace with myself, contented with what I have.. I must agree that I am in a good place in life. Comfortable but yet there is still room for me to grow and push myself for improvement and achievement.

So on last Saturday, with the blue blue sky and beautiful weather, I went to explore Marina Baragge with my hubby. Took lots of pictures...

Went to Airport T3 for lunch at Wang Cafe...

I love my Kopi..

There was a mini-race car exhibition going on... but no crowds leh...
