Hello Monday blues! I'm back.. from nowhere.
It has been a difficult February... returned The Maid back to agency 2 weekends ago and from then, it has been a challenging period with me trying to cope with the baby, housework and settling my meals. Deciding to care for Lucas has been already tough decision for me to make.. but carrying out the duties without help has been even more taxing.
Like it or not.. I know that it isn't the time for regrets.. so I shall switch on the 'positive thinking' mode and keep looking ahead. It is harder than I thought to put aside the financial independence that I have always enjoyed.. haha, I love shopping so what do you expect! And pls.. *Friends, you know where I stayed! Come and visit lah! I definitely like the company of adults after spending my days with the baby and doggy!
Well, there are rewarding moments too.. Lucas has started taking solid food at 4.5 months.. he likes his cereal very much! In order for me to have some time to do house chores & have my meals, I set aside time for him to watch cartoon and play by himself, and he is adjusting alright. I know some parents don't allow their kids to watch the TV or have candies... well, I think the opposite.. I believe they learn during play time and TV is not bad if you limit the time they spend watching it.
Time for lunch now..shall post the remaining CNY photos when I can make time.. tata!
15 Jan 2011 (Tue) - CNY Day 1
I love CNY... absolutely l.o.v.e meeting up with those relatives that I haven't gotten the chance to catch up during the entire year... love the bak kwas and pineapple tarts.. the spring cleaning before the festive period sort of build up the anticipation for me... the shopping of new clothes and new year goodies add up to the festive mood!
I finally got rid of my huge lazy bug and got about to sorting out the photos... here are some pictures taken during lunar day 1:
We woke up bright and early on that morning and got dressed.. 1st stop of the day was to my 4th uncle's home...

An addition to our family!
We woke up bright and early on that morning and got dressed.. 1st stop of the day was to my 4th uncle's home...
Thanks to my uncle and auntie for the sumptuous spread.. they woke up early to cook up a feast for us!
Phototaking with my adorable cousins.. we are the 'meanie' sisters!
With the birth of bb Lucas, my cousins became aunties.. and my uncles/ aunties turned granduncles/ grandaunties... sound so old!
Sui Sui Granny...
My nieces and nephews..
We ended the day with steamboat dinner at my sister-in-law's place... forgot all about taking photo of the food as Lucas became real grumpy in the evening...
Photos of day 2 & 3 coming soon..
14 Feb 2011 (Mon) - Love is in the air or not?!
So today is Valentine's Day... ah... Happy Valentine!
To me, Valentine's Day is so over-rated loh.. a day that makes the singles out there feel lonely... a day that makes the boyfriends/ husbands sweat over getting the right gift for their partner... restaurants are so fully booked... flowers are ridiculously high!
And for all the girls that are attached... waiting to see if their other half put in effort on this 'special' day for them... I remembered just last year, every hour or so there will be delivery men sending flowers to the office for my colleagues... the next bouquet will always be bigger & prettier than the previous one... seriously! Spending a hundred or two on flowers! Just yesterday, I was shopping at Isetan Scott and saw that a bouquet of 6 stalks of roses selling at $60! Give that money to me anytime and I will put it on better use lah! Typical auntie reaction!
I have been ultra lazy lately.. besides taking care of bb Lucas, I rather go shopping than sitting down to blog... I promised to post them up soon!

01 Feb 2011 (Tue) - Sunday Out & All Others
Yippy Yah! 2 more days to CNY!
GONG XI FA CAI!!
Happy... Happy... Happy New Year!
We have been giving out angbaos for the last 2 years and this year we are bringing bb Lucas to collect some! Ha!!
Here's some pictures taken recently...
The one and only group picture taken (with my aunt's camera) during our recent zoo trip with my bro, aunt and cousins..
My uncles, cousins, mum and bb Lucas.. everyone likes to take pictures with only the baby and the girls...
My mischievous cousin.. Hui Hui... she is 6 years old!
We had our reunion dinner early on Saturday.. There wu xiang rolls, prawns, Hainanese chicken, spinach with abalone, fried fish, cabbage soup with fish max + pork stomach...
sumptuous spread!
After many attempts to train him, Bb Lucas can now sleep longer and make do with lesser feedings at nights.. which is super duper good news to me! I get more sleep --> feel less grouchier --> have the mood & energy to go out in the day!
At TCC Centrepoint, having lunch on the wet Sunday afternoon...
We started the day with brunch at Changi Airport T3 Wang Cafe.. followed by shopping at Centrepoint and OG Orchard.. visit my in-laws in the afternoon.. off to buy some plants for CNY at Thomson and more shopping at Thomson Plaza in the evening..
You must be wondering what is this... These are good stuff! Yummy prawn rolls (cut and fried in smaller pieces for me) made by my 2nd uncle! Each piece is about 3cm in diameter and I had 8 pieces at one go! @#$%^&*
Fried beehoon by me! I don't get to cook much these days with Lucas needing for my attention day in and out.. but I managed to fry some beehoon last Thu.. there's prawns, fried eggs, cabbage, small bits of mushroom and silver fish... According to the feedback from the maid and Melvin, it was supposedly delicious.. Haha!
