20 May 2011 (Fri) - 3 months and counting...

You know that the weather is bad when people start falling sick. Yeah.. Lucas and I fell victim to some terrible flu virus and we had fever, cough and cold for the past few days. I'm now on the road to recovery but Lucas is still sneezing and coughing.

If you think that caring for a baby is tough, try caring for him when he is ill and you are down too. I was so sleepy from the medication but had to kept waking up at nights as he was terribly whiny. My body was aching from the fever but I still have summon up the energy to feed him, bath him, play with him.. To sum it up, the past week definitely hasn't been easy.

I don't know what it is with me recently.. but I have been thinking a lot about certain things. Pondering about an issue that have been bothering me, that I haven't been able to let go or to come up with a solution yet. I know that I should learn to just let it be and enjoy life as it is.. but sometimes it is difficult to give up a goal/ dream/ wish that you always hope to achieve in life without a fight. I hate to be trapped in situation like that.

Lucas is turning 8 months old soon. I have been caring for him personally since birth but the past 3 months has been the hardest as I cared for him without any assistance. Not to mention coping with all the housework... laundry too. It feels like I have been doing it forever but it was only for 3 months. Seriously, I can't say that I enjoy the whole 'stay-home-mum' thingy. It does bring out the worst side of me as the crying for attention really gets to me on some days. But there are the few precious moments that I thoroughly enjoyed and won't want to miss for anything... example, he is learning to sit this week and every time that he does it.. he is doing it faster and better.

It has been quite awhile since I last post photos of the Auckland girls... these are taken at their school trip yesterday.. what a wet day!

Decided to post these pictures too since I'm free today. It's almost time of the month and I'm feeling really lethargic.. My body is aching and yet I'm unable to sleep soundly at night. Leaving the housework to another day I shall!



A pretty mini-luggage meant more for decorative purposes. I'm using it to store my makeup.. Love the painting of flowers on it.. So country!




See it takes ~6hrs to Kuantan.. So naive of us to believe.. Because it was closed to 10hrs after adding in the traffic jams, stopping for breaks and customs.. No more road trips!




Love the flowery prints of Cath Kidston's bags.. I have got one from Tatty Marsh at Tangling Mall.. But look at all the imitations that they were selling at Thomson Plaza.. Each at $20 only.. Trust China to come up with imitations of everything!

It is... a.............. very... dead.... Mosquito! I hate mosquitoes! They are the most disgusting insect ever. After sucking your blood, they can't leave you in peace some more .. Must still let you itch like hell.

This "don't-know-how-to-spell-death" mosquito was hovering near Lucas a couple of nights ago. I tried to kill her (it is a she because we all know that males feed on plant juice).. And she tried to hide. There is rarely mosquito in our house and i was already upset to see her in my room.. She was a real pest and kept trying her luck.. So I played a game of patience with her.. Sitting very still, next to Lucas and true enough.. She being stupid and greedy (so full of blood already), landed on Lucas' forehead. End of the story --> see pic.

13 May 2011 (Fri) - Lucas goes dating...

It was getting real monotonous to stay at home everyday so I arranged to meet up with my friend, Serena on Wed.. She brought her lovely 11 mth old, Naomi along and so Lucas and I got to meet her for the very first time...








She was such a calm lovely baby can! Sitting quietly in the car and also during lunch... If only my Lucas could keep that still for a day!

Girls will be girls.. She didn't mess up her hairband.. And was sitting delicately playing with her pack of wet tissue.. While Lucas was chewing on everything that he could lay his hands on and drooling non-stop!

We were so smitten with her.. *Serena, can you let us have Mimi pls.....




Another baby... Aidan is 6 weeks old now and he growing to be a real charmer! Love his beautiful big eyes.. Ok, Lucas is so jealous now.. Haha! He wants big peepers too!

12 May 2011 (Thu) - More rain pls...

The rain came and went away too quickly.. Nevertheless, it is now cooler than the past few days. Someone from up there must have heard the complaints... Pls keep the raining coming.. We N.E.E.D it urgently.

Recent pics of FOOD.....


We went to Chilli's Grill and Bar at the Tangling Mall about a month ago for an early dinner.. Melvin ordered BBQ ribs and I had deep fried chicken strips in a sweet, BBQ sauce. The portions were too big for us.. I didn't finish my food.. And I guess there was too much meat and I should have ordered grilled or pan fried items. The fries and chix were both deep fried and it was too dry for my liking.











We went to have seafood at The Red House at East Coast Park during the Labour Day weekend.. I missed eating crabs during my pregnancy days.. So we ordered both the chilli and black pepper crabs. The chilli gravy was too starchy and I didn't enjoyed it. We went to the Long Beach Restaurant on the very next day and ordered both chilli and black pepper crabs again.. I much preferred their version of chilli crab.. Didn't take any pic though...




"Lao goh" fried carrot cake at Zion Road hawker centre.. It wasn't as good as before.. I would like it a little saltier and crispier pls.




Couldn't get nice durians these couple of weeks according to the 2 durian stalls that we usually frequent. Make do with these $6 a box from Sheng Siong Supermart.. I was taking my own sweet time in choosing ripe, fleshy bittersweet ones.. Successful! Good buy!

10 May 2011 (Tue) - Wicked Weather

I wonder if God/ Mother Nature/ Earth is angry with us... and he/ she is punishing us with the recent horrible, horrible heat... the minute I step out of my air-con room.. I feel like I am walking into a oven.. the heat is so intense that I will sweat even with very minimum movement... the air is so dense that I could slice it with a knife..

The rain this morning was disappointing... it was rather brief and it is still as W.A.R.M as ever.

Took this 'artistic' picture of baby Lucas after his bath.. MOON YOU!

Collected the loyalty stamps on the Huggies diapers that we bought for the past few months and we got these items FREE! 1 pack of L-size diapers, 1 pack of XL-size of diaper pants, 2 packs of wet wipes and 2pcs of Swimmers' diapers... Cool!

My friend told me that I could get samples of the milk formulas and I tried... got these samples of Mamil Gold, Friso and Enfapro from the respective companies... can you see who is the most generous? And the bloody S26 which I have been giving Lucas didn't even have the free sample promo.. niaoo...

Who says you can't shop when you are house-bounded at home most of the time.... got these home slippers from a neighborhood shop... cheap and good.. heehee! Got to admit that I get excited with shopping for anything lah...

Baby biscuits... got some of them from my auntie.. the Pigeon ones are quite exp, 4 small packs in a box at $4.90 each.

He was playing with the pillow when he fell asleep... with his legs up in the air... cute!

 

There was once he rolled down from his mattress and he was afraid of the floor ever since.. (On separate occasion) See him raising his legs and holding his head up with his hands because he was scared of touching the hard floor... timid boy!

I missed the food already! Had cravings for sambal stingray a few weeks ago so we went to the East Coast hawker centre for fried carrot cake, bbq chix wings, sambal kangkong, wanton mee and shellfish... hungry hungry!

I watched the Fast and Furious 5 on last Sunday... it has been awhile since I get a day off to catch a movie... enjoyed the movie and I also want to lead that kind of fast and dangerous life leh..

01 May 2011 - Happy Labour Day!

Just came back from having seafood at "Xiao Hong Lou".. Came home with "Mao Shan Wang" durians for supper! How much more sinful can it gets?!

Missed eating crabs as I haven't had it for the longest time.. Purposely avoided crabs during my pregnancy days... So we ordered both chilli and black pepper crabs during dinner.

Am very full now.. Dozing off soon.. My tummy is like 5 months pregnant.. *remind myself to eat less for the next few days...
