31 Mar 2010 (Wed) - Birthday
So I have turned 31.. the big day came and went in a blink of an eye. There were lots of workshops to run so the day was spent in the office but ended with Melvin bringing me out for a nice seafood dinner. Deep-fried Soon Hock Fish in Nonya Sauce and Seafood Mee Goreng are “must try” items at Jumbo!

23 Mar 2010 - High Tea at Goodwood Park
Hello! Sorry for the lack of entries, I have been both busy and lazy again.
After my routine check-up on last Friday, I met up with mum in Orchard Road for some shopping. As her birthday is approaching, Melvin sponsored us to high tea at Goodwood park Hotel. Why I said "sponsored", because he paid for it and yet couldn't make it so we enjoy on his behalf!
Baaaaa Liiiiii... rushed to Orchard from school immediately after her lesson.. she was starving but tahan till 3pm for the buffet!

We ate and ate from 3to 5pm.. the local food spread was pretty delicious except I find ths mee siam and laksa a tad too salty for my liking.

15 Mar 2010 (Mon) - Old Wives Tales and plenty of advices!
So ever since I discovered that I was pregnant.. or should I say ever since I broke the "baby on the way" news to friends and families, I have been getting lots and lots of advice on what to do and what not to do.. the sudden rain of attention and advices can be both amusing and annoying depending on my mood for that day...
I choose to believe in some (more logical ones) and decided to group the rest under the "old wives tales" category.. some of these so-called real life encounters are more freaky than helpful...
1) Do not let others tap you on your shoulders. (Just heard this one today from a work associate. She didn't give any reason as why not to allow anyone to tap my shoulders so don't ask me why too.)
2) Don't wear tight pants as you might have difficulty taking your pants. (This came from the cleaning auntie who speaks from real life experience as her sis-in-law got to cut her pants to deliver. Damn funny ok! Totally don't understand why any pregnant ladies want to wear tight pants as it's so uncomfortable.)
3) Drink milk so that your baby will be fair. (Come on! I'm pretty sure the fairness of your bb is genetic and not based on whether you drink kopi or guni.)
4) Do not lie flat on your belly as this might hurt bb growth. (My hubby came up with this one. Old hubbies tales maybe.)

I get so easily irritated these days.
Blame it on the hormonal change or my plain old nasty temper, I don’t know. But I jump at every single stupid comment/ question/ action.
E.g.1 – After looking into and finally booking the flights/ hotels for my colleagues’ trips, there will sure be changes on the initial itinerary! And then I will have to spend more time and effort for the cancellation/ change with the airlines and hotels. Double work for simple tasks. Can’t stand it loh!
E.g.2 – What is it with mother-in-laws? I have heard countless stories on disputes between MILs and the daughter-in-laws but thought that I would be able to get along well with mine. But seriously, I hate those annoying questions relating to my mum loh! Give me a break ok? Be it a “out of good will” question, “nothing to say” question.. leave me alone.. sob sob!

So we have all heard of Jack Neo’s scandal.
Officially, he now tops the chart of SG biggest losers and the ultimate laughing stock in Y2010.. He tried to be a casanova but ended up with details of his flings splashed over the cover of Lian He Wanbao and The New Paper! Not so suave anymore huh???
Can’t help but to give my 2 cents worth on the scandal..
Firstly, what is it with men and their insatiable needs to hump younger women? Don’t go telling me that was how men are made to be and that polygamy is nature’s way of ensuring that human produce the enough offspring (my friend came up with this rubbish theory). BULLSHIT. Imagine using such a lame excuse to justify for cheap thrills. Boo! Why is it that staying faithful to your wife and loyal to your family can be so difficult for some men? Plain greedy. I hope your wife/ gf will cheat on you in your next life.
Secondly, I think the mistress in this saga is dumb. There I say it… dumb. You know his marital status before you even enter the relationship.. so what kind of ending were you expecting? A happy ending where he has 2 families living in harmony? Or do you think he is going to leave his wife and 4 kids for you? And in the interviews, she harped on how much she loved Jack and has no wish to hurt his family… please loh.. aren’t you contradicting yourself by exposing the relationship to the media?
She said that she felt cheated.. again pls loh.. what kind of person did you think he was? Rephrase my question abit – what kind of man are you expecting him to be? If he can cheat on his wife, what are the chances of him cheating on you with other women? Naïve leh. He knew exactly which hotel to bring you to for those rendezvous so do you think it’s his first time bringing a girl there?
Putting all these aside, why would you put yourself out there for public scrutiny and ruin your own reputation by talking to the media? So that we knew what kind of person he is?? Why should we care what kind of person he is? There is a Chinese saying – 你情我原(both parties are willing) – Honestly, it was merely a failed attempt to threaten him in going back to you isn’t it?
Next, I was in a forum yesterday and saw comments left by many on this episode. Comments from this particular visitor really stood up.. he/ she was telling the other visitors that they should not judge and comment on Jack’s personal issue. My conclusion is that this person must be Jack himself or must be a real hypocrite. Humans are judgmental creatures – we judge from what we see, hear and feel everyday. As if he is saint loh.. preached so much but in the first place, why is he in the forum reading and looking through the mistress photos? Equally kaypoh leh.
Ok, enough on this topic liao.. till we get more juicy bits from the tabloid!

Argh!!! It's Monday again...
Life has been quite monotonous so nothing much to blog about... here's some pictures...
Melvin brought Poppy for her usual check-up and fetched me after work. We were in the car while Melvin went to get dinner.. Poppy was waiting for her beloved owner to return.
Homemade pasta with compliments from Melvin... the pasta sauce was made from scratch, yum!
Visited my friend and her family yesterday.. Her baby boy, Ethan was so adorable! 6 months old and already such a charmer! He smiled when I complimented him for being such a handsome boy!
