Recently, I was introduced to the blog of this girl.. She should be in her twenties and has undergone major plastic surgeries last year to enhance her looks. To start with, she isn't ugly or what but just wanted to be prettier... and she has a series of surgeries - to widen her eyes, tapered her ears, sharpen her nose, reshape her face and correct her chin.. plus bust enhancement and liposuction done. And she wasn't afraid to share her experiences on plastic surgery, even included her before and after photos.. something which I truly admire her for.
Although I think that there is nothing wrong with going under the knife, plastic surgery remains a taboo in Asia. Many (actress/ models/ singers) still deny having any work done when it is super obvious. Certain parts of the face and body do slowly change with time but nose bridge sure doesn't grow higher overnight.. Period.
It is in human nature to want to be pretty.. to crave for things that are pretty. So there is nothing wrong for the ugly to want to be good-looking, and the beautiful to want to be perfect. But I have seen so many of these man-made beauties claiming their good looks to be natural. Yucks loh! Like a certain local Chinese blogger pretending her delicate Eurasian features are being passed down from her obviously Chinese-looking parents. And if you compare her pictures taken during her school days, she couldn't look more different... small eyes, button nose and slightly squarish face changed overnight.. literally.
Much as I am fascinated with how plastic surgery could correct/ enhance our appearances, I doubt I would ever have the guts to go under the knife. I have had braces on to correct my vampire-ish teeth and laser treatments to lighten my freckles in the past. I guessed these non-invasive procedures are the furthest that I will go.
It sure does take huge courage and real dedication to go through the pain.. and the uncertainty of how you would actually turn out to be... So kudos to those who dare to try plastic surgery and be open about it!
*On a side note, what is it with our local comedians and the needs to cross-dress?! Jack Neo started the whole Liang po-po and Liang Si-Mei thingy.. and there is Zhou Chong Qing as Auntie Lucy.. and now we have Hossan Leong also dressing as a woman in the ads of "We are Singaporeans" game show. Mark Lee also played the character of a ah-gua (transsexual) in his latest movie. I wonder if it is really entertaining (for the audiences) to see a man playing a woman.. or it is because our local comedians could only go this far. I cannot and don't know how to appreciate it.

Time really flies and it is Thursday already..
This week has gone by so quickly. Maybe time really pass faster when you are occupied. I have been busy reading up on where to go for my upcoming HK trip.. spring cleaning the house for Lucas' party on next Sat.. while dealing with the day-to-day chores in between. Realising that it is impossible to have everything in tip top condition, I am only doing as much as I can on the cleaning part. I tell myself that this is going to be the last party that I am holding at home unless I am getting external help on cleaning up. It is simply too tiring.
I brought Lucas for his jabs yesterday... his pediatrician is good but we always have to wait such a long time for our turn even though we have booked a slot with him way in advance. Waited for a good 2hrs before it's our turn ok! And the charges are exorbitantly high I tell you. I am seriously thinking of switching to another doctor for the remaining jabs since we have completed the jabs included in our prepaid package.
2 more days to go before the weekend.. no plan on where to go or what to do yet... am so looking forward to our trip!

These iPhone games are so addictive! I'm hooked on Bakery Story and Restaurant Story so much so that I rather spend whatever free time I have on the games than to blog... which explains my half-dead blog.
Well, I'm back now and will try to update my blog with details of my oh-so-boring life as often as I can.
First up, Lucas' 1st birthday has been set on the 24th of this month. Invitations were out.. Cake and buffet have also been ordered so next up would be cleaning and decorating the house.. I am definitely not looking forward on the cleaning part but it can't be avoided as we didn't manage to book a chalet for the party. Most chalets (those spacious ones) are fully booked on that day. I should have start planning even earlier... totally didn't expect chalets to be this popular.
And we are going on a short trip in Oct... actually we planned to go Korea at the end of the year but since we both agree that it is going to be too cold for Lucas.. we decided on a shorter trip.. 5 days & 4 nights to Hong Kong!
I'm looking forward to the shopping, good food and Disneyland! Might drop by Macau on one of the days.. see how it goes.
