06 Feb 2012 (Mon) - CNY Day 2 & 3

CNY is coming to an end!

After spending another fun weekend meeting up with friends and relatives, I am back to post the photos taken on CNY "Chu 2 & 3"...

CNY Day 2
As usual, we spent our day visiting my grand-uncle and grand-aunt (maternal)...

My aunt (in red) who is only a year older than me is expecting her 2nd baby.. ENVY! I want too!

We love taking pictures at my grand-uncle's place because his place is always well decorated with big pots of flowers and plants!

Moving on to my grand-aunt's new place at Limau Garden..

Their new place is alot smaller compared to their previous.. maybe by 40 - 50%. But still nice to be able to live in a terrace house lah.. never understand why rich people can waste their time on being unhappy.. because IF I am rich, hahaha.. I will spend all my time enjoying life!

Having Kong Bak Pau and Nian Gao for lunch... quite tasty but portion too little for ~20 of us! Only the buns were freeflow..

CNY Day 3
And on day 3, we went to another grand-uncle's place before going to my 2nd uncle's place for "Chor Dai Di"..

Group photo before leaving.. didn't take any pictures at my 2nd uncle's place.

Next Up will be photos taken on Day 6 at my aunt's place.. Huge house with plenty of entertainment!

02 Feb 2012 (Thu) - Proud of my Ah-Fat Bb

Today is Lucas' 3rd day to school and so far he is adapting well. His teacher told me that he is coping fine, though he did cry for me now and then.. but he is joining the older kids in playing and other stuff. What can I say... I AM SO PROUD OF HIM OK!

Like super proud of him.. because I only can imagine myself crying and kicking up a big fuss if my mum were to dump me in school at 16 months.. haha! And I didn't even stay to accompany him at all.. which the teacher said was the right thing to do as the child will only yearn for the mother more if you stay with him in the class. Don know how true leh...

Anyway, I was just thinking to myself.. it has been exactly a year since I took care of him by myself.. with no help. The first 4 months I had my maid and my mum to help me with him and the house-chores.. And after I decided to be a stay-home-mum in early Jan.. and sending my maid back in last Feb (after CNY).. I have been caring for him personally from his 4th month onwards.

The past 12 months has been really tough. Being a first time mother, caring for him all by myself, dealing with the never-ending house-chores.. and I had to eat, bath, rest, buy food in whatever little time left in between.

But looking back, I find this period of time being very rewarding. Having been there to see his first step, hear his first word, admire his first dance.. I would never trade these experiences with anything. Bringing him to town for the first time.. Going holidays with him when he was 5th month old (Kuantan) and then Hong Kong after his 1st birthday... Catching his first movie "Johnny English" at the cinema before he turned 1... these memories are very precious to me.

I'm proud of him whenever he learns something new.. but going to school.. is like a big deal to me. Like my baby is moving on to the next phase in life. I look at him in his uniform and carrying his school bag, and I feel overwhelmed. Like my Ah-Fat is no longer a baby but a boy liao.. haha.. I'm getting too sentimental!

As you would have expected.. ending this post with more photos of Ah-Fat:

01 Feb 2012 (Wed) - Ah Fat goes to school!

January is over so quickly.. and CNY will be over in another 5 days time too.. *sigh* Time really pass by so fast..

Before I continue with my posts on the photos taken during CNY.. I wanna share that my Ah-Fat has started school!

I know! He is still so young right~! My Ah-Fat has only turned 16 months a few days ago.. and I thought why not ask the school downstairs if they allow him in their playgroup... since he has no one to play with him at home.. and he can learn some basic words/ songs in school. So I brought him over and the teacher said that he is independent enough to join the class! So he has been going to school for 2 days and I didn't stay with him in the class.. *cross my fingers* So far so good! He cried abit on the later part of the first day but I guess that was because he was sleepy.

I see some of the other kids crying.. reluctant to go into the school.. and I wonder if Lucas is too young to understand that mummy will be leaving him in the school.. or simply too young to be afraid. But I guess that personality plays a huge part as he has always been very sociable, outgoing and friendly to strangers. Really hope that he stays this way.. as it is never easy on the mother when sending a crying child to school.
